Diana Wynne Jones, RIP

I heard the sad news from a facebook post by Sharyn November.

Diana Wynne Jones (16 August 1934 - 26 March 2011) was a British writer, principally of fantasy novels for children and adults, as well as a small amount of non-fiction. Some of her better-known works include the Chrestomanci series and the novels Howl's Moving Castle and Dark Lord of Derkholm.

On 26 March 2011, reports of Jones's death began circulating on Twitter, one tweet from writer Neil Gaiman[1] and a blog posting fr from John Scalzi.[2] The fan-operated website she approved and sometimes communicated through also reported her death, attributing it to cancer.[3]
